We invite you to the next webcast in our IFRS series, scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (ET).  Our panel will discuss some of the most significant differences between IFRS and US GAAP, and address the impacts of those differences for US companies.  Archives for our earlier webcasts can be found at www.pwc.com/usifrs/webcasts.

Overview
"What is the difference between IFRS and US GAAP?"

That is one of the most frequently-asked questions we hear from companies.  Not surprisingly, our publication IFRS and US GAAP: similarities and differences has been one of our most popular resources.

In this webcast, our panelists will examine some of the more commonly found differences US companies will encounter as they prepare for IFRS adoption by certain non-US subsidiaries as well as for the eventual adoption of IFRS. In addition we will highlight certain GAAP differences as a result of the ongoing convergence of US GAAP and IFRS. We will also provide an update on recent SEC activity and other developments related to IFRS.

Speakers on our webcast panel will:

  • Present an update on the current SEC view on IFRS,
  • Compare and contrast IFRS and US GAAP in areas that will most likely affect companies,
  • Examine the impact of those differences, and
  • Discuss the likely impact of convergence where applicable.
Participants will gain a heightened understanding of the differences between US GAAP and IFRS as well as steps they should consider next.  We will also answer as many of your questions as possible during a Q&A session.
